TELL YOUR LEGISLATORS: FOLLOW SETH MOULTON'S LEAD ON GENDER
Have 5 minutes?
Please join DIAG and demand that our Democratic representatives support Congressman Seth Moulton, the first elected member of our party to courageously put their head above the parapet and state the obvious: boys and men do not belong in girls’ and womens’ sports.
Up until 10 minutes ago, school-based sports programs for young women and girls were based on the biological reality of sex. This is in no small part the result of the landmark 1972 Title IX legislation which ensured equal opportunities and resources for women and girls in schools that receive federal funding.
“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
Our misguided administration and legislators have once again failed to read the room (or think critically about this), choosing to trample over the fundamental rights of females—once a key liberal focus, and shifting instead to the “inclusivity” model. We’ve seen the tragic effect of male athletes participating in female sports: loss of honors and opportunities, loss of privacy, decreased participation, and injuries.
This is just one of several fringe positions on gender embraced by the Democratic Party. The Federal Bureau of Prisons allows fully intact trans-identified males into women’s prisons, jeopardizing vulnerable, powerless women inmates. The administration’s Assistant Secretary of HHS, Rachel Levine, promotes puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for minors — even though multiple health authorities in the most liberal countries in Europe have found very weak evidence these interventions improve young people’s mental health, while there is ample evidence that they put a patient on a path to sterility, sexual dysfunction, bone density loss, and risk of stroke. Sadly, many of these children simply don’t conform to gender stereotypes and will likely grow up to be healthy gay and lesbian adults without intervention.
Our legislators need to understand the reality of the issue and turn this ship around.
